Avishi Organics Review and Giveaway!

I was introduced to Avishi Organics last spring.  I was very intrigued by the product because it is completely natural, and is supposed to help banish stretch marks.

A Natural Product for Stretch Marks?

There are many “stretch mark reducers” out on the market.  Have you ever looked at the ingredients?  They’re filled with mineral oil, artificial fragrances, and a lot of other chemicals.  And they don’t work.  Why would you want to put that junk on your skin?

Stretch marks happen because the skin on top stretches faster than the layers underneath, leading to red, wrinkled lines.  Over time they fade to blue and then silver so that they’re barely visible.  But mommies know!

Consuming coconut oil and other natural fats can definitely help to combat stretch marks, by making skin more supple from the inside out.  Sometimes, though, something is needed on the skin itself.  This is especially true as we’re heading into winter, because the harsh winter winds will make it difficult to keep skin moisturized and healthy.  A safe, natural product — and one that’s aimed at healing skin, no less! — is important to many women.

Avishi makes just such a product.

Intensive Repair Oil

Avishi’s product is 100% natural.  They do not add any filler oils, fragrances, MEA, DEA, or any other synthetic ingredients.  It is made entirely from healthy plant oils and essential oils.

This is their ingredients list:

Key Ingredients

Rosehip Seed Oil and Helichrysum Italicum Essential oil help improve skin elasticity, regenerate skin cells and reduce scarring

Seabuckthorn Oil restores damaged skin with high concentrations of vitamins A, C and E, carotenoids, flavonoids and essential fatty acids

Tamanu Oil soothes the skin, and helps relieve irritations and inflammation

Borage seed oil, one of the richest known sources of Gamma Linolenic Acid (an essential fatty acid) restores moisture and smoothness, and helps accelerate the healing process

Gotu Kola, an ancient chinese and ayurvedic remedy to rejuvenate and nurture skin and its underlying connective tissues, helps rejuvenate and strengthen skin tissues

Macadamia Nut Oil, a rich source of palmitoleic acid, is a strong anti-oxidant and protects the skin just like human sebum does, also allowing it to deeply-penetrate and hydrate skin

All Ingredients: Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Oil, Rosa mosqueta (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Calendula officinalis (Organic Calendula) infused in Olea europaea (Organic Olive) Oil, Macadamia integrifolia (Macadamia Nut) Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Borago officinalis (Borage) Oil, Centella asiantica (Organic Gotu Kola Leaf) infused in Olea europaea (Organic Olive) Oil, Caulophyllum inophyllum (Tamanu) Foraha Oil, Lavandula angustifolia (Bulgarian Lavender) Essential Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oil, Helichrysum itallicum (Helichrysum) Essential Oil, Rosmarinus officnalis (Rosemary) Oleoresin, Azadirachta indica (Neem) Oil.

There’s nothing unnatural or weird there!  Completely real, pure ingredients.

How Is It?

I have only used it a few times, though I think it’s time to go back to it!  My belly’s growing again and the weather’s turning cooler rapidly.  The few times I did use it, it was a little hard to spread (it doesn’t contain any fun ‘extra’ ingredients to make it more slippery; it absorbs very quickly!) but it seemed to work well.  I didn’t use it long enough to see if it would really heal my stretch marks but they may have been a bit lighter after a week or two.

Avishi says noticeable results will occur in about 12 weeks and I didn’t do it that long.  Probably should have!

I like the fact that it could be used beyond pregnancy for scarring and such, so it wouldn’t be a waste if you didn’t use it all for stretch marks.

I would love to try this because I love organic and natural regimens. I have gradually made the switch and now the only thing I use that is not all natural/organic is hair spray and I have a recipe for that, just need the time to make it.

Being pregnant with my third, I would love to have this! I got stretch marks with my second and my skin has been really dry the last month, so I think this would be a great help. I love the ingredients- especially the gotu kola as I have read great things about it.

Got something to say? Go for it!
